Disney announced new Star Wars content today at their Investor Day 2020 event. This new content includes new movies and series. “Star Wars: Rogue Squadron” is a feature film, and one other untitled film was announced. Two direct spinoff series to “The Mandalorian” are going to be released as well. Those are titled “Rangers of the New Republic” and “Ashoka.”
But that isn’t all. “Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi” brings back Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, the stars of the prequels. This series will take place ten years after “Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.”
“Andor” is a new Star Wars series highlighting Cassian Andor, the Rebel captain from “Rogue One.” There is also an animated series “Star Wars: The Bad Batch,” which will highlight clone troopers that were introduced during the most recent season of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.” The final season of that series aired earlier in 2020, and now The Bad Batch will take its place.
There is also an anime short series called “Star Wars: Visions,” which showcases Star Wars through the eyes of Japanese artists.
Taylor Swift also announced a new album releasing tonight, which will go head to head with Kid Cudi for streams. This is her second album of 2020, after “Folklore.” This new album is titled “evermore.” I am expecting a similar sound to what we got on “Folklore,” but you never know I guess with Taylor Swift.
Of course, there was also a cryptic tweet from Playboi Carti, but I am not expecting anything on that front.
